A HANDFUL of solid displays failed to bring Badsey a victory when they visited Chainwire in Division Five of the Worcestershire County League last Saturday.
Dave Powell's figures of 4-46 with the ball helped restrict the hosts to 215-7 after 45 overs but that proved to many for Badsey to overhaul despite four good knocks.
The early departures of Ian Hardwick and Adam Westma-cott was a blow to the chasers who fought back courtesy of 30 from George Cowley and 41 for Nick Powell.
Jamie Paul then chipped in with 30 but it was left to Michael Powell to remain unbeaten at the close on 24 as the visitors closed on 168-9.
