IN reply to the letters from the residents of the Flats regarding the proposed plans for the rebuild of Parkside and Meadows First Schools.
We live in Churchfields, and along with many local residents, we attended the display at Meadows First School. The plans for both the build and eventual occupancy show little or no regard for any residents from Churchfields, the Flats, Santridge Lane or Stourbridge Road.
I was dismayed that the solution proposed by the Flats is to just push the problem on to somebody else.
Surely a better solution would be to build in the Parkside grounds and have access from Market Street and/or Recreation Road. This would cause no disruption to any residents and would feed the school with access in the direction of its catchment area.
Churchfields was deemed unsuitable for access for many reasons and it is unlikely that a narrow cul-de-sac/lane would have a similar accident rate to that of a busy main road, so quoting a traffic survey is pointless.
