I am writing to complain about the recently enforced parking charges for the Dolphin Centre car park.
I have been playing badminton at the centre for many years, one court on Tuesday evening and two courts on Friday evening. Therefore there are four people parking on Tuesday and eight people parking on Friday.
We do try to car share, but do not all live near each other. I, as a centre member, am the only person able to claim back the parking charge and, in view of having to pay to be a member and the fact that the Government is urging people to take up exercise, am annoyed that Bromsgrove Council is penalising its patrons in such a way.
If the idea behind it is to prevent shoppers parking there then the shops close around 6pm and we play at 8.30pm, which doesn't make sense.
We also play badminton at Cocks Moors and Colmers Farm, both of which have free parking. There again both of these venues are governed by Birmingham City Council. Could it be that Birmingham care more about the health of its tax payers than Bromsgrove - it appears that this is just a money printing exercise with little or no regard for the people of Bromsgrove.
Come on Bromsgrove, give us something for our excessively high council taxes, there isn't even adequate lighting in the sports hall.
