The speaker at our June meeting was Hilary Twigg, a lecturer at Pershore Horticultural College, and her subject was "seasonal interest in the garden".
Hilary's talks are always good value and this was no exception. She had brought along lots of cuttings from some well-known and some more unusual plants and had very helpfully printed out copies of their names, so we were all able to mark the ones we fancied for our future planting.
Finally, Hilary answered lots of questions and gave us helpful information and various good tips. We certainly learned a lot in the course of a most interesting forty minutes. The evening ended with the raffle, coffee and biscuits and lots of chat.
Our next meeting will be on July 14 at 8pm in the Friends Meeting House, in Sandhills Road, when the speaker will be Roger Umpelby talking about "friends and foes in the garden".
Visitors and new members are always welcome.
