CATSHILL folk turned out in their thousands on Saturday to enjoy fun in the sun and raise cash for community projects.
Organisers said around 3,000 visitors turned up at the Meadow in the village to enjoy a Fun Day, the first event of its kind to be held in 15 years.
It was opened by Bromsgrove's MP Julie Kirkbride.
Among many highlights was a plastic duck race on the nearby brook and excellent music courtesy of Catshill Middle School band.
One of the organisers, Ian Prust, said about £2,000 was raised which will be spent on play equipment and laying a path in the Meadow.
"The organisers were overjoyed with the response from residents and we want to say a big thank you to everyone who supported us, the various groups who put on stalls and those who ran them," he said.
The event's success has ensured it will be held again next year.
