youngsters put on their running shoes to raise more than £1,000 for the Hikkaduwa Village Fund.
Children from Blackwell First School were sponsored to take part in a mini-marathon around the school's field to collect cash for the good cause.
The school raised the cash to help the Sri Lankan village and surrounding area and is keen on setting up a possible link to see how residents are getting on.
The fund was started by a group of drivers from Millennium Dive Centre, in Harwood Park, Bromsgrove, after the Sri Lankan villagers saved their lives when the Asian tsunami struck last year.
