BUDDING writers from a Spa school were paid a visit by a children's author during a readathon event.
Barrie Wade joined youngsters at Cutnall Green First School, in School Road, last Wednesday to talk with them and share his writing expertise.
Children tried their hand at writing poetry and enjoyed talking about what it would be like to be an author.
The event was part of a week-long readathon that saw youngsters sponsored to raise money for MENCAP, a charity chosen by Barrie Wade.
Teacher Kate Gibbs said: "All in all it was a really successful day and we look forward to a future visit."
