CHILDHOOD sweethearts from Droitwich celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with loved ones.
Joy and Wyn Burton, of Pilgrim Road, met when they were at St Peter's School, Holloway, aged 14 and 13 respectively, before getting married seven years later at St Nicolas' Church.
Joy used to work as a dressmaker with Wyn working at Garringtons in Bromsgrove.
Dancing
The couple used to take part in dancing competitions all over the country and have always loved to ballroom dance together. They both still enjoy sequence dancing when they get the chance.
Joy and Wyn toasted 50 years together with family and friends on June 11. They have a son and daughter and four grandsons.
Joy said: "The secret to a long and happy marriage is to stick with it and to always talk and consult each other about things you do."
