KIDDERMINSTER Carolians Rugby Club are looking forward to the new season when club coach Andy Stooksbury will be assisted by a new forwards coach, the former Bath and Stourbridge forward Mabon Jones, who takes up his duties next Thursday.

They will be helped by Ben Turner, who is being proposed as club captain for the coming campaign.

Turner had a terrific season in 2004-5, and is eager to lead from the front when the new league season opens with an away fixture on September 3 against Wolverhampton.

Pre-season training starts at the club next Thursday at 7pm with a large turnout anticipated.

All current and prospective players are invited to a barbecue at the club on Friday, July 1 at 6.30pm.
