BIDFORD residents are being urged to have their say on plans to cut the speed limits in the village.
Warwickshire County Council is holding an exhibition at Crawford Memorial Hall on Wednesday, June 29 starting at 2.30pm until 8pm. Residents from the village are invited to make their views known to representatives from the council's Traffic Projects Group, attending the event.
The exhibition will display maps allowing villagers to see plans proposed by the council's Local Transport Plan, which seeks to reduce the speed limit on the B439 road.
County Councillor for Bidford, Peter Barnes said: "I have battled to reduce the speed on the roads of Bidford for four years and am pleased to that the B439 will be the first in the county to be reviewed."
The proposed introduction of a 30mph and 40mph speed limit on the B439 Bidford Road aims to reduce vehicle speed and therefore improve conditions for residents and vulnerable road users.
Among the changes called for are interactive solar power signs which light up to remind drivers of the speed limit.
Cllr Barnes added: "I am sure everyone will be in favour of the changes proposed.
"A reduction in speed is what people here have wanted for some time."
Villagers will be given the opportunity to cast their votes on the proposal and make any further comments through a questionnaire, which will be handed out at the end of the evening.
The questionnaire should be returned to the Traffic Projects unit by Friday, July 8.
