A ROMANTIC pub owner completed a whirlwind couple of weeks for his wife by whisking her off her feet on a helicopter trip of a lifetime.
In the past seven weeks, Tim Churchman took over his first pub - The Country Girl, in Stoke Prior, near Hanbury - and his wife of 15 years, Debbie, gave birth to baby Felicity.
To complete the hat-trick, Tim made her dream come true yesterday by organising a surprise helicopter ride for her 40th birthday. "I normally do something a bit wacky - we went for a hot air balloon trip for Debbie's 30th and once, totally out of the blue, I bought her a dog," said Mr Churchman, also 40. "I was not that bothered about a helicopter ride but I knew it was her dream. One of the customers is a pilot and asked me if he could land in the field next to the pub, which gave me the idea." The couple flew over their Redditch home before enjoying a picnic.
