RECRUITMENT consultant Backup Staff Limited has had its best ever year ever finding jobs for more than 14,000 residents in Worcester.
Turnover at Backup, which is based in Castle Street in the city centre, increased 25 per cent during the 2004/05 financial year. Across the Midlands as a whole, the team found jobs for nearly 78,000 people.
"The overall figures for the group are extremely encouraging and it actually means that we placed 1,500 people in employment every week for the whole year," said Joe Powell, managing director.
"We are looking forward to a successful year ahead, and if the results so far are anything to go, by we won't be disappointed.
"The job market in and around Worcester is very encouraging at the moment so we are looking for new people all the time to fill positions across the region."
Established in 1990, Backup is one of the largest Midlands-based independent recruitment organisations with branches in Worcester, Kidderminster, Redditch, Eve-sham, Cheltenham, Glouces-ter, Dudley, and Coventry.
