PARENTS can get involved in their children's education as never before when a ground-breaking scheme starts in Worcestershire tomorrow.
More than 100 people are expected to turn up to Droitwich Spa High School to discuss schools with council education experts at a Parents' Voice conference.
The scheme - thought to be the first of its kind in the country - was the brainchild of education campaigner Jonathan Pearsall and Worcestershire County Council.
"This is purely for parents and is non-political," said Mr Pearsall, who has been a fair funding campaigner for Worcestershire's schools for years.
"Parents will be able to have
an open market place to talk to whoever they like at the conference, where director of education Julien Kramer will welcome the guests.
"It's great to have the backing of the council and also that Worcestershire is really leading the way."
The conference, which is called 'Schools: Big Changes Ahead', will start at noon and last until 4.30pm and anyone is welcome to attend.
"This is a remarkable first for Worcestershire, organised by parents, for parents," said outgoing education boss Mr Kramer.
"More than 100 parents and carers have already said they're coming - a few places remain."
There is also a creche available to enable parents of young children to attend, and lunch will be on offer."
