CORSE Parish Council has entered the Calor Gas Village competition and Pat Lewis has been entered for the Citizen's Award.
Pat was born in Corse and has lived in the village all her life. Right from an early age, she became involved with village life and activities, starting at the age of 17 when she became secretary for the gymkhana, which was raising funds for a new village hall. She is now its present treasurer.
Both she and her late husband Bill were always involved and in recent years she, with the committee, have worked on the refurbishment of it.
Pat has also been involved with Corse and Staunton Playing Fields and is the present chairman of the parish council. She is a past president of Staunton and District WI and chairman of the floral section of Malvern Spring Show. She has three daughters and seven grandchildren. A keen flower arranger for over 40 years, Pat has been involved in many prestigious flower festivals including Westminster Abbey and St Paul's Cathedral. She is a founder member of Churchdown Flower Guild and its chairman. Her leisure interests are short-mat bowling and she is a member of the Gloucester Civil Service Bowling Club.
