GUARLFORD'S summer fete is being held on Saturday, July 9 at Rectory Field, Rectory Lane, from 12.30pm onwards. Admission is £1 (children under 16 free) with plenty of free car parking. Apart from the usual stalls, there will be a companion dog show with seven silver challenge cups and 16 classes judging in two rings. There are also antiques valuations (bring your items to be valued for £1 per item), a scarecrow dressing competition, Chase High School Band, Hanley Handbell Ringers, birds of prey, pony cart rides, charity organ, static engines and vintage cycles and vintage tractors etc. Come and see displays by Madresfield School, martial arts and flower arrangements. For refreshments, there will be cakes, ploughman's lunches, teas; for competitions there is welly-wanging, skittles, hoopla, tombola. All money raised is for the funds of the parish churches.
