THE annual summer fete at the Memorial Hall is the place to be on Sunday, July 10. There will be all kinds of entertainment including a barbecue, strawberry teas, live music, a grand slide and various side shows. All this will happen between 3-6pm.
Last Sunday, ten energetic cyclists completed a circular 14-mile ride round the local countryside. This was the final day of National Bike Week and the group finished at the Farmers Arms for strawberries and cream. Thanks to Mark and his staff for supporting the event.
The garden club meeting on July 13 will be an evening visit to Willow Lodge at Longhope, and members are asked to gather at the garden for 7.30pm. Admission is £3 and the ticket includes tea and biscuits and there are plants for sale. The four-acre garden and arboretum is on the A40 six miles east of Ross-on-Wye, between May Hill and Longhope. Because numbers are limited for this exclusive evening viewing, members are asked not to invite visitors. Let's hope for a fine evening!
