JOHN Bickerton trails the leaders by five shots going into the second round of French Open today.
The Droitwich golf ace fired a two under par 69 in a thunderstorm-affected first round to leave him tied for 23rd place with 12 others in Paris.
Hereford's David Park is a further five shots behind his British rival. The Burghill Valley member carded a first round three over par 74.
Jean Van De Velde leads the event on seven under, although half the field are still to complete their opening 18 holes because of the weather.
