REDDITCH United have quashed reports star striker Norman Sylla is moving to Welsh champions TNS on a two-week trial.

Llansantffraid-based TNS, who learn their Champions League first qualifying round opponents today, have reportedly invited the 22-goal hitman to join them in training with a view to fielding him in one of their pre-season friendlies.

But United number two Gary Whild said the club had had no contact from TNS - The Welsh Premier League's only fully professional club - for the £3,000 signing who is under contract at the Valley.

"There's no way Norman Sylla is going anywhere, particularly under these circumstances," said Whild.

"We would appreciate a call from TNS if they wish to make an inquiry. You would expect contact from them anyway out of courtesy.

"It doesn't matter if they're Birmingham City, Man United or whoever, if a player is under contract any club wishing to sign him has to seek permission from his club.

"At the moment we are treating the whole thing as a tongue-in-cheek inquiry. Norman is due in France to visit his mother so I can't explain it unless he has gone via Wales!"
