PUPILS from Malvern and Hanley Castle have been brushing up their knowledge of the Bard in preparation for a national Shakespeare event.
Youngsters from Malvern Girls' College, The Chase and Hanley Castle high schools were selected to take part in 1 Night of Shakespeare, an event organised by the BBC and the Shakespeare Schools Festival.
They will join more than 350 other UK schools to perform 30-minute Shakespeare productions in 100 theatres across the country.
Local pupils took part in preparatory workshops, run by the National Youth Theatre, at Malvern Theatres on Wednesday (June 22).
Malvern Girls' College will perform A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Chase As You Like It and Hanley Castle Romeo and Juliet at the Festival Theatre on July 3.
