WOULD someone please enlighten me as to why on First Bus 32 route Green Lane (Ombersley Road) to Baynall, we have to put up with 'old buses' which, when entering, you have a job to get on?
This is because there is a handrail down the centre of the steps which is too narrow. It is particularly difficult if you have a shopping trolley, which many of us older people have to use. Many of us are now unable to carry heavy shopping.
Second, there is not enough room between your seat and the seat in front for your knees, especially if you are tall. You find it most uncomfortable when your arthritic knees are right up against the back of the seat in front.
Third, why are the buses so disgustedly dirty - surely it doesn't take long to put the bus through a wash? You're made to feel like Third World travellers.
Fourth, what has happened to all the new buses we were supposed to be having and all the money from the Government to provide a decent bus service, thus encouraging people to leave their cars at home and use public transport?
MRS M POOLE,
Worcester.
