CREWS from the two counties are chasing medal success at the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta which starts today.
Worcester Rowing Club duo Jeremy Richardson and Peter Crozier are going for the Silver Goblets and Nickalls' Challenge Cup.
Worcester also have a crew bidding for glory in the Wyfold Challenge Cup, racing against London RC 'C' to start with, as do Hereford Rowing Club, who tackle the Army.
Stourport Boat Club have sent out a junior 18 crew in the Fawley Challenge Cup but Hereford Cathedral School failed to qualify. The Wyre Forest side's talented crew, who qualified for the event last week, is made up of Rupert Conway, Alex Gavin, Daniel Brighton and Dan Hastie.
Royal Grammar School Worcester and King's School Worcester are both racing in the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup at the regatta, which runs until Sunday.
RGS Worcester's first eight is Nick Fenton, Charlie Fisher, Tom Crawford-Clarke, Nick Szmigin, Joe Price, Marc Wright, Nick Henman and Nick Palmer, with Matthew Lawrence coxing.
They will be up against Canford School to start with, while King's face St Xavier High School from the USA.
Hereford Rowing Club also have a team in the Britannia Challenge Cup, with Molesey their drawn opponents.
