SUNDAY afternoon provided a youthful Pershore side with a Worcestershire Clubs League success at Swi-ndon in Staffordshire.
David Powles was the hero with a blistering innings of 113 that contained 15 4s and four 6s and occupied just 80 deliveries.
It was then left to captain Eversham and Paul Bozward to lead the visitors to victory and a boundary off the final ball left the latter 37 not out and the visitors winners by one wicket.
Earlier, Bozward had taken two wickets as the hosts scored 242 from their 45 overs - a total that didn't quite prove enough despite a slight hiccup after the South African's match winning knock.
Another product of the club's youth policy - Sam Cross - starred for both club and county.
The 11-year-old leg-spinner (below) took 6-14 as Worcestershire Under-11s defeated Northamptonshire by six wickets at Broms-grove School.
Cross, a pupil at Abbey Park Middle School, was then a late call-up to Pershore's Under-15 side and he recorded analysis of 4-20 to help his side t victory over Badsey.
