I would like to thank all the voluntary groups who helped to make Rubery's first annual event for almost 20 years a day to build on for the future years.
I sincerely hope that those individuals who participated in this fantastic demonstration by the young people of Rubery and our surrounding community, will take heart in spreading the enthusiasm to all and sundry for next year's event.
Let's make it bigger and better and can I exhort all our community to get involved.
In particular we need more young people on the committee and driving this event forward.
Thank you to all volunteers for manning the road junctions and patrolling the parade.
Thanks to Bromsgrove Council for providing the 16 rails for the road closure, as well as taping off the park for the activities.
Also thanks to Rubery Leisure Centre and Rubery Youth Centre for helping to "lead the way". It's not possible to mention all the groups and individuals, but Rubery is proud of you.
Dave McGrath, chair, Rubery Youth Day
