PARENTS were given hints and tips on keeping their homes safe from fires at Chawson First School last week.
Spa firefighters parked their engine at the Wych Road school and handed out leaflets packed with safety advice.
Headteacher Gerry Hughes said: "We always have the fire service come in and work with the children but we have never had them come in just to speak to parents."
He added: "It was a definite success - mostly because we told the children they would get a sticker for taking their parents over to meet the firemen!"
