A CHILDREN'S charity has been chosen by the new Rotary club president as getting his full fundraising attention this year.
Jim Gillespie, of The Holloway, took over from John Skilton, of The Oaklands, last night (Tuesday) and announced he would supporting the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) during his term of office, as president of the Rotary Club of Droitwich Spa.
Jim said: "They do a lot of good work in schools, so I am happy to support them."
John reflected on his year as president. "It was a very successful fundraising year and it was an honour to be elected president. I wish Jim all the best in his term of office. He is a very hardworking Rotarian and a good citizen."
"Of course I am a little apprehensive about the year but I'm also looking forward to it," added Jim.
The group meets at St Andrew's House Hotel, in Worcester Road, every first and third Tuesday at lunchtimes and every second and fourth Tuesday in the evenings.
