YOUNGSTERS from Bromsgrove and Droitwich were amongst those given good citizen awards for Worcestershire.
West Mercia Constabulary presented the awards to school pupils aged 18 or under who have made an outstanding contribution to their community.
The awards were given out at a ceremony at County Hall in Worcester on Friday (June 24).
Out of the 34 young people nominated, four were from Bromsgrove and Droitwich.
Jennie Avery, 18, from Droitwich Spa High School, received an award for her work as a millennium volunteer at Dorset House nursing home, where she has spent over 75 hours teaching residents computer skills.
Jacob Blasdale, seven, who attends Millfields First School, in Bromsgrove, has raised money for a charity that creates books in Braille.
Nic Parkes, 15, who goes to Waseley Hills High School in Rubery, set up and runs a village website which has become a valuable method of communication between neighbourhood watch groups, residents and the police.
Sarah Denyer, 17, from South Bromsgrove High School, received an award for her help at the Special Olympics Club for people with learning and physical difficulties.
All those receiving awards have the chance of going forward to be named as the force's Good Citizen of the Year.
Sergeant John Dickinson, who organises the awards, said: "The young people who have been recognised have all contributed significantly to their communities through acts of generosity, courage and good citizenship. West Mercia Constabulary is proud to be able to give them all well deserved recognition."
