A MOCK-UP living room demonstrating how quickly a blaze can spread was one of the highlights of the Droitwich Spa fire station open day on Saturday.
Scores of Spa folk turned out to the fundraising day to see safety demonstrations, enjoy a barbecue and pick up a free smoke alarm.
Sub officer Mark Strutt said: "Anyone who still needs to get a free smoke alarm can call 01905 771515."
Firefighters said £550 was raised which will be split between the Fire Services Benevolent Fund and a local charity yet to be decided.
