RESIDENTS of Stourport are being given the chance to see how work on a town heritage project is progressing.
Stourport Civic Society is holding a public meeting to update townspeople on Unlocking Stourport's Past at the town's Civic Hall in New Street on Wednesday at 7.30pm.
The society was awarded £25,000 Local Heritage Initiative funding to record and photograph sites, monuments and historic buildings in the town and make them accessible to people.
Displays on show during the evening will include information on Stourport's pubs and shops, as well as Moor Hall Walls, Bridge Street and the Old Warehouse.
Speakers will include Pauline Annis, chairman of the civic society, and Simon Roper Presdee, a conservation adviser with Wyre Forest District Council.
Jill Fairbrother Millis, the society's secretary, said: "The theme of the evening will be recognising Stourport's hidden past and the importance of the protection of our buildings for future generations to enjoy.
"All are welcome and we hope that more people will be encouraged to join the project."
