YOUNGSTERS from a Stourport School have helped two "newly wed" classmates plan and celebrate their mock wedding day.
Twenty five children from Wilden All Saints CE First School's year one class arranged all the details for the big day.
The six-year-olds who played the parts of bride and bridegroom, took part in a special mock ceremony at the nearby All Saints church.
About 50 children and parents were in the congregation for the service that was conducted by church curate Jane Speck.
Joy White, headteacher at the Wilden Lane CE First School, explained why the children took part in the activity.
She said: "Every year we try to do something to help the children understand a service that the church conducts. This year we decided to have a wedding and all the children and even some parents really enjoyed organising the event."
The children organised the cars, flowers, wedding cake, costumes and reception with the help of local companies.
The reception class, of four and five year olds, also got involved by making commemorative horseshoes for the occasion.
Mrs White has hailed the white wedding as a great success that was enjoyed by all that attended.
"The whole day was absolutely fabulous. The children are really on a high from the event and the parents were really impressed," she said.
