WORCESTERSHIRE must show greater sharpness at Edgbaston to get their Twenty20 campaign back on track, according to Steve Rhodes.
The Royals travel to Warwickshire tomorrow (5.30pm) knowing nothing less than victory will do if they are to maintain hopes of qualifying for the tournament's quarter-finals.
Monday's disappointing 37-run loss to Northamptonshire at New Road left the County slumped near the foot of the Midlands/West/Wales division.
A fourth defeat in five is likely to spell curtains for the Royals and so Rhodes insists an improved effort is required against their Midland rivals.
Rhodes said: "This is a big game and we will have to be that little bit sharper than we were against Northamptonshire. It's a serious competition and we will travel to Warwickshire determined to win. If we win our last four games, then we have a great chance of qualifying.
"Like all one-day cricket, if you win one game you can then go on a roll. We want to get that roll starting against Warwickshire."
n Worcestershire are struggling to retain their Second XI Trophy after crashing at Warwickshire by 14 runs on the Duckworth/Lewis method.
Batting first at Kenilworth Wardens CC, the County posted 312-5 from their 50 overs, Stephen Peters smashing 117 and Daryl Mitchell 75.
Warwickshire completed victory after reaching 279-6 from 43.4 overs.
Worcestershire host Somerset at Kidderminster tomorrow in their next Second XI Trophy tie (11am).
