STUDENTS from Baxter College are raising money to set up an exchange link with a school in Gambia.
Eight pupils, all aged 14, will be holding a talent show in aid of their project on Monday.
They plan to invite pupils from a boarding school in Gambia to visit the area and are also hoping to have the chance to travel to Africa to visit their new friends.
The group was inspired by teacher, Jayne Webster. She used to work at a school in Bromsgrove where an exchange programme has been running for 18 years.
Miss Dancer said: "We decided to do this because they haven't got much money and we wanted to show them how we live here and we are going over there to see how they live.
"We have done all the organising ourselves. It is a brilliant opportunity for us to go over to Gambia and for them to come over here."
She added: "We hope people support us by coming to the talent show. We are also doing Big Brother - the eight of us are going to sleep in school for a week and people are going to sponsor us."
The talent show will be held in the theatre at Baxter College at 6.30pm. Tickets are available from the college's reception.
