SEVENTEEN young people from across Wyre Forest have received awards acknowledging their good deeds.
The annual Worcestershire Good Citizen awards scheme, run by West Mercia Constabulary, recognises people who have made outstanding contributions to their communities.
A ceremony was held at County Hall, in Worcester, last week and the awards were presented by Supt Rod Reynolds, from South Worcestershire Division and Jacqui Allen of Worcestershire Local Education Authority.
Award winners included pupils from Blakedown Primary School, Franche First School, Bewdley High School and Stourport High School.
They also have the chance of being named as the force's Good Citizen of the Year when the judging takes place in October.
Sgt John Dickinson, the award organiser, said: "The young people who have been recognised have all contributed significantly to their communities through acts of generosity, courage and good citizenship. West Mercia Constabulary is proud to be able to give them all well deserved recognition."
