Musicians will be playing notes in a bid to amass notes of a different kind - cash for ambitious plans to build a skate park in Malvern.
TG's Project is aiming to create the park in memory of Malvern skateboarder Tim Greenwood - who died of leukaemia in 2003 - and has now organised a fund-raising 'Battle of the Bands' Competition.
More than 30 people turned up to The Chase Technology College in Malvern's Geraldine Avenue at the end of last month to see four bands taking to the stage.
They are all battling for a chance to play at a Party in the Park live music event also being organised by TG's for Saturday, September 10 in Malvern's Priory Park.
Now a further two competitions are taking place at the college at 7.30pm tonight, with the band Keiko headlining, and another on Friday, July 8.
It follows hot on the heels of a skating and sports competitions organised by the group last month.
Party in the Park runs from 11am to 11pm and celebrity musician and West Malvern resident Nigel Kennedy, as well as local bands including Clearwater and Backwash, have been invited to attend.
TG's secretary Anne Cox said: "It's basically to raise awareness and funds for the project and give the kids a good time.
"There's not really a lot that goes on for them in Malvern - at least until we get the park up and built - and that will
then change."
TG's representatives visited The Chase this week to update youngsters on the project.
They are also set to meet Malvern Hills District Council representatives shortly to discuss the progress of a site being identified for a park and will also be writing to local businesses and schools to drum up some more support.
