MATHS wizards from a Worcester school pitted their wits against some of the finest young minds in the country during a national challenge.
Four 12 to 14-year-olds from the King's School entered the Team Maths Challenge along with 1,800 other hopefuls from top schools across the country.
They won through to the final 60 teams and competed in the grand final, held at London's Guildhall on Monday, where they were an impressive 17th.
Challenges included a number-word - like a crossword but a test of maths - individual head-to-heads and team quizzes.
Head of maths, Alison Hines, said: "I'm absolutely delighted for them.
"One of the events involved a great deal of running backwards and forwards, so it was a long day, but it was also a great deal of fun."
The cathedral school's team consisted of Peter Anderson and Katherine Rollins, from Year 9, and Duncan Leeson and Jonjo McArdle, both in Year 8.
It's the third year the College Green school has entered the competition and their first time in the final.
