A FLOWER festival and sponsored songs of praise event has raised £1,300 towards the repair of the roof at St Gabriel's Church, Hanley Swan.
The festival, which ran from Friday to Sunday, June 24-26, attracted hundreds of visitors.
In the sponsored songs of praise event on Sunday, parishioners were encouraged to pay to have their favourite songs included in the service.
An appeal was launched in October last year to raise a minimum of £32,000 to carry out the work on the roof. So far, nearly £10,000 has been raised.
