A RUMOUR that Upton Marina was to begin work on an expansion without full planning permission has been quashed.
Concern was raised at a meeting of Upton Town Council that the marina was planning to start the £3.5 million project imminently, despite only having outline planning permission.
But Malvern Hills District Council's planning department confirmed this week that Walton Marine was aware of the need for full planning permission before work could begin and was due to submit an application shortly.
Walton Marine plans to extend its existing basin into the adjoining Fowlers Meadow, to create 120 new moorings and build 100 holiday lodges and chalets to the east of the site.
