I RECENTLY visited the Malvern area and stayed for a week. I believe it was 15 years since I was here before - and was immediately struck by the fact that not a lot had changed. In times when change seems inevitable, it was a pleasant surprise.
I rediscovered all the beautiful walks and also visited Upton quite a lot. It was just like stepping back into the past, where people had time for you, were friendly and smiling. The relaxed pace of life ensured I returned home with good memories and, obviously, a strong wish to return before another 15 years goes by.
However, you suffer from a problem that is rife in my own area - speeding motorists. Drivers exceeding speed limits destroy the pleasure of a stroll. I wondered many times if a vehicle going too fast would hurtle off the road and cause an accident, possibly involving a pedestrian i.e. me.
In spite of this, my stay was excellent.
