MALVERN has made the top ten in a new 'quality of life' survey.
The survey, by the social research institute MORI, ranks local authority areas according to appearance, based on factors such as litter, clean streets, graffiti and general appearance of streets and public spaces.
Malvern is rated fifth in the country, with a score of 88 out of 100, in terms of visual quality and "livability".
Town clerk Richard Chapman said: "It's good news for Malvern.
"The town retains a lot of its Victorian charm and the town council is commited to continuing improvements to local services and making the town as attractive as possible to residents and to tourists."
The cleaned stone pavements and decorative floral displays for Malvern in Bloom are two recent improvements.
Malvern Hills District Council was also pleased to see Malvern near the top of the poll.
Spokesman Colin Davis said the council worked hard to make the area an attractive place to live and work and the survey reflected its success and commitment.
