EVESHAM United are set to welcome back midfielder Inderpaul Khela when the squad returns to pre-season training.

The 22-year-old missed the bulk of last season's Southern League Division One West campaign after enduring a shoulder problem that required an operation.

"Indy will be coming for pre-season training and that's great for us," admitted Evesham assistant boss Paul West. "He's had his shoulder operation and just come back from playing a football tournament in Asia.

"Hopefully, he can get a good pre-season under his belt. He's a good player and we're looking forward to having him back."

The Robins return to pre-season training on Tuesday night before the squad heads to Abbey Stadium in Redditch for an intensive two-week fitness programme.

West added: "We went on the fitness course in Redditch last year. It's all about preparing our players to reach a certain level of fitness.

"We start the pre-season with a game against Bishops Cleeve where we will be running the rule over seven or eight lads that we are bringing down for a trial."

Meanwhile, United manager Dave Busst has escaped a suspension for a red card in the play-off semi-final victory over Ashford Town.

Busst was given his marching orders near the end of normal time after encroaching on to the pitch.

However, midfielder Steve Duncan will miss the opening two Premier fixtures following his dismissal in United's 4-0 play-off final victory over rivals Bromsgrove Rovers.
