I CANNOT understand people not wearing seatbelts. When I was an approved driving instructor in 1965, we were asked by the Ministry of Transport to teach all pupils from the start to wear seatbelts.

Therefore, anyone who has learnt to drive in the last 40 years would have been taught to wear seatbelts.

You would think that in a globally-reported collision such as the case Diana Princess of Wales, where the only person wearing a seatbelt is alive today, the lessons would have been learnt. Not enough has been driven home about this. It is so obvious that the fact she was not wearing a belt contributed enormously to her death.
