BARNARDS Green seconds had no complaints after losing against a keen, young Evesham side in the Worcestershire Sunday League.
EVESHAM II v BARNARDS GREEN SUNDAY II
Skipper Wajzer did his best to rotate a blend of young and very young seamers, but on a hot day the score rattled along at a steady five and six per over, helped by plentiful wides and other extras.
Some excellent catching by Bartlett and Rogers, some useful legspin from MacMillan and steady late spells by Clack and Hill were the bright points.
After tea, there was a lively opening partnership full of well-timed drives by Hill and ferocious swipes by Rogers, but Evesham needed only one breakthrough on the wearing track and then the collapse was inevitable.
Heaton, almost at a standstill with his injured ankle, battled well for 42, but the Green were dismissed more than 100 short.
