Team Bosch

A TEAM of 23 women employees at Worcester Bosch has raised over £2,000 for Cancer Research UK.

Each of them laced up their running shoes and competed in the 5km Race for Life around Worcester.

Every member of the team completed the course in under an hour, and Lizzy Hughes from the sales support team clocked an impressive time of 28 minutes.

Race for Life is the UK's largest women-only fund raising event. It has been held annually in Worcester since 1999, and over 5,000 women take part each year.

Less of a perk

Company cars have become less popular as a perk since changes in taxation have taken effect in the past few years, according to a new report today.

The number of employers offering company cars has fallen from eight in 10 in 2000 to six in 10 now, research found.

Few employers offered cars to their entire workforce, usually giving the benefit to senior staff or workers whose jobs depended on driving, said the report in IRS Employment Review.

Pension fix

Maintaining the state pension at 65 was "easily affordable" if the Govern-ment met its employment target, the TUC has argued.

Raising the age would only be a "quick fix" solution which would force poorer people to work longer because they were less likely to have a private or occupation pension, it said.
