A STUDENT successfully completed a cycle ride home to Worcester from her university studies at Leeds.
Jenny Yates spent four days riding from Yorkshire to St John's as a novel way of marking the end of her time in Yorkshire.
She was joined by friend Becky Kellitt, also from St John's, who had just completed her penultimate year studying Fine Art at Bournemouth University. They hope the trip will raise about £400 for the homelessness charity Shelter.
"It was very tiring but we had a lot of fun along the way. During one day, for instance, we went round Sherwood Forest," said Jenny, aged 22, who earned a 2:1 in French and Italian.
"A couple of times we got lost on cycle routes but most of the time it was really enjoyable and we met a lot of lovely, helpful people.
"The best and most enjoyable day was from Birmingham to Worcester, going down the canal path past 40 locks."
Jenny is now set to spend three months helping school children in India before beginning a teaching course.
