RESIDENTS worried a Sainsbury's supermarket swap will blight their neighbourhood have been told they can quiz planners about the proposals at an upcoming meeting.
Residents on Windermere Drive in Brickfields, are worried the plan to rebuild a bigger Sainsbury's supermarket on Archdales Sport's Club, while constructing new club facilities on the old supermarket will be a blot in their neighbourhood.
Worcestershire County Councillor John Buckley has spoken to some of the residents and has promised a meeting where homeowners can put their questions directly to the planners.
The date has yet to be confirmed, but he said it would happen shortly.
Mr Buckley said if planners could allay residents' fears, the development could be positive step for the neighbours.
"We are at present arranging a meeting of all parties so residents can have a proper briefing from the planners about what exactly is being proposed."
"However, it is my view that if residents' issues are addressed, this development could enhance the area, and I will be encouraging homeowners to look at these plans carefully," said Mr Buckley.
