PERSHORE won the first Birmingham Cricket League meeting against Worcester by 22 runs.
Both sides were in the bottom half of Division Three going into the match.
Worcester won the toss and inserted Pershore into bat on a good wicket. The hosts took advantage by taking two quick wickets.
Lee Wilks helped repair the damage for Pershore by scoring an excellent 52.
Later in the innings, Luke Eversham and Martin Johnson put on 70 to enable Pershore to post 183-6 off 55 overs.
Waddington Mwayenga (3-69) and James Wagstaff (2-55) were Worcester's best bowlers.
Worcester's reply got off to the worst possible start as Mark Chambers went in the first over.
Captain Andy Mason looked in form, but losing Dan Tarver and Mwayenga had Worcester struggling at 23-3.
Matt Foster joined Mason at the crease and helped steady the ship.
Unfortunately, with wickets falling at regular intervals, only Liam Weston (17) looked comfortable late on.
Worcester were bowled out for 161 in 37 overs. Tom Bales (4-57) and David Powles (3-39) were the pick of the Pershore bowlers.
Worcester Seconds suffered a disappointing 70-run defeat at Sutton Coldfield. Sutton scored 181, Dan Cure the best bowler with 3-60.
Worcester were skittled for 110, with Dave Francis top-scoring on 26.
