HEREFORDSHIRE hopes of recording their first Minor Counties Cricket Championship win of the season were dealt a blow with yesterday's washout.
The second day's play of the Western Division clash against Dorset at Colwall was called off due to rain.
The home side are currently 85-1 in their first innings, with Richard Hall (39no) and Henry Langford (30no) at the crease, in reply to Dorset's formidable 422-9.
The weather also hit the Crusader Worcestershire League knock-out cup final last night.
A cloud-burst wiped out the game between Droit-wich Spa and Netherton at Kidderminster.
The match will now be on Thursday (6pm).
