DROITWICH Spa High proved to be the strongest school as more than 60 youngsters competed in the Worcestershire Schools Sailing and Canoeing Association regatta.

They took the best school team trophy in the popular event at Upton Warren Sailing Club, near Bromsgrove.

The weather was kind to the sailors who took part in a range of events covering all kinds of disciplines.

Results, Junior Slalom Shield: 1st Abigail Downie (The Chase School); Dominic Fitzgerald (Camp Hill School); 3rd Jonathan Bell (Witton Middle School).

Slalom Shield: Simon Robinson; Bobby Lawrenson; Tom Cocker (all Droitwich Spa High).

Junior Long Distance Shield: Fitzgerald (Camp Hill); Bell (Witton Middle); Elizabeth Reeve (The Chase).

Long Distance Shield: Lawrenson; Robinson; Tom Brazier (Droitwich High).
