PIRATE computer games, DVDs and CDs were seized at a car boot sale at farmland in Alvechurch on Sunday.
Police recovered more than 2,000 counterfeit items, including copies of War of the Worlds, which has only just been released at the cinema, and X-Box and Playstation games.
Two young men selling the goods ran off as soon as police arrived, abandoning their loot.
Police were unable to give the exact location of the sale.
Pc Mark Churchill, of Wythall police, said: "We understand people being tempted by a bargain but the copies are very poor quality and are not worth spending money on.
"The movies in particular were obvious counterfeits, which had been filmed from the back of a cinema.
"We are liaising with Trading Standards and will be patrolling other car boot sales in the area."
