THE Bromsgrove and District League, sponsored by the Advertiser/Messenger, celebrated the 2004/2005 season with its annual awards evening at Catshill Working Men's Club last week.
It was a chance for players, managers and everyone involved with the clubs to give themselves a well-deserved pat on the back for another successful campaign.
League chairman Colin Waldron said: "The season was very hard going and this is a chance for everyone to look back on it.
"It was a great evening to celebrate what was a very high quality season."
Waldron presented Simon Banner, from champions Church FC, with the Division One trophy.
Gary Dwyer presented Alvechurch Darts manager Andy Clayton with the Advertiser/Messenger Cup.
Clayton also received the Gordon Bridgewater Memorial Cup.
Star and Garter's Dave Webb was presented with the Division Two championship trophy and Church Reserves were given the Division Three trophy.
Woodbourne Sport's Richard Mortimer and Keith Rostill, from Man on the Moon, were joint players of the season for Division One.
Rubery RBL's Richard Sturmey (Division Two) and Black Cross' Lee Robinson (Black Cross) were also given player of the season awards.
Top goal-scorers, Dean Beagan (Alvechurch Darts), Ben Drummond (Rubery RBL) and Steve Collett (Black Cross) were also presented with awards.
Rubery RBL was given the Centenary Cup, while Victoria Barnt Green was presented with the LMS Shield.
League secretary Simon Burgess was presented with the Stuart Thompson Fair Play Award by president Arthur Smith on behalf of Bromsgrove General Reserves FC.
Matthew Newbold, of Victoria Barnt Green, was named club secretary of the season for his hard work behind the scenes throughout last season.
Alvechurch Darts, Cofton Falcons and Black Cross also received silverware for coming runners-up in their divisions.
Waldron said: "Now we have had the awards ceremony we can all look forward to another great season with renewed vigour.
"There's a lot of hard work to be done, but we're all looking forward to it."
