THE Ray Till Trophy foursomes bogey competition was played in ideal conditions at Evesham.

The format is difficult with players needing to attack the course right from the start as only a score under par gives a plus on each hole.

The pairing of Iris Ashman and Lin Tattersall provided the ideal combination and they completed the course with a score of +5 to emerge as easy winners.

The two prestigious competitions - the Lisa Lightfoot Silver Salver and Rose Bowl were both keenly contested.

Annie Bird was first in the former event with a gross score of 91 but only on the back nine holes from Vina Kite.

In the Rose Bowl, it was lady captain Gillian Spencer's day who carded an excellent net 67 for first place and a return to the Silver Division.

Jackie Edmunds was runner-up with a net 75, while the Division Two medal was won by Audrey Tomkins (net 84).

Division Three saw Jenny Masser top the listings with a net 79, while Helen Cross recorded her first success in second place with a net round of 86.
